Woman dies in kidnappers custody in Ekiti

A lady whose identity is yet to be ascertained had reportedly lost her life in the hands of gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in Ekiti State on Tuesday.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Sotonye Wakama, made the disclosure while speaking with newsmen in Ado-Ekiti yesterday.
According to the police boss, the kidnappers were said to have abducted their victims along Ifaki -Oye Ekiti Road on Tuesday. Those abducted include an Engineer with an Abuja based construction firm, Mr Tola Dakuna, the branch manager of First Bank PLC,in Ifaki Ekiti including two ladies, Fidelia Nnaji and one Njideka and one person suspected to be student of Federal University, Oye Ekiti.
Quoting Dakuna’s driver, Wakama said the victims were coming from Akure to Oye Ekiti in a Sienna car when they were trailed by a car. While suspecting the car that was trailing them, another people came from the bush and stopped them. In a attempt to take a detour and return to Ifaki Ekiti, they saw two other persons pointing AK 47 rifles at them.
They were later taken into the bush where they were held hostage for three days. were acting on information”.
According to Wakama, the lady could not walk freely as at the time she was released ,adding that she must have died of dehydration, having no access to food or drinks throughout the three days she was in the lion’s dens.”
