Manchester United are ready to commit a staggering £65million in wages to keep Wayne Rooney at Old Trafford for the next four years.

The champions will give the England superstar assurances that the reported £200million war chest that has been handed to manager David Moyes will fund a red revolution.
Sunday Mirror Sport understands that United are weighing up £20million-plus offers for Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye and Southampton left-back Luke Shaw before Friday’s deadline.
Rooney's new contract will make him the highest-paid footballer in the Premier League with a basic wage of more than £300,000 a week.
Those terms will bring him in line with the two stellar names in the world game, in Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid.
