Plain speaking Yorkshire actor Brian Blessed reckons he doesn’t need Viagra to keep him going in the bedroom despite being 79 and being fitted with a pacemaker.
The Shakespearian performer and one of Britain’s best loved actors said: “All I’ll say about sex is I don’t need that bloody blue pill.”
He has been married to actress Hildegard Neil since 1978 and says kissing her was the nest kiss of his life.
“It took great courage to kiss her on the lips than it did to go up Everest.”
Blessed, the son of a socialist coal miner, has appeared in four Kenneth Branagh Shakespeare fllms and numerous stage productions of the bard.
Last year he collapsed on stage during a performance of King Lear with the Guildford Shakespeare Company, in which his daughter Rosalind was also acting.
He received medical attention from a doctor in the audience and returned, 20 minutes later, to the stage to complete the play.

However two weeks later it was announced that Blessed had been “compelled to withdraw” from the production on the advice of his heart specialist and was subsequently fitted with a pacemaker.
