AN elderly woman dubbed a ‘female Hannibal Lecter’ has been arrested for allegedly killing her husband and cooking his heart, nose and genitals.
The 71-year-old pensioner is accused of bludgeoning her 80-year-old husband to death with a kitchen mortar used for grinding spices.
She allegedly cooked his body parts in a pot in her kitchen in the town of Longwy, north-east France, on May 22, officials revealed today.
A judicial source said: “The suspect cooked his heart, nose and genital organs in a pot, but we don’t know if she ate them.”
The suspect’s lawyer Caroline Depretz said her client woman suffered from delusions, adding: “Obviously it was a fit of madness.”
The woman is being held in a prison psychiatric unit and is due to undergo tests to determine if she can be held responsible for her actions.
