President Muhammadu Buhari preparing to address the Nation.......

The All Progressive Congress Presidential Candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, is expected to address the nation on his electoral victory.

The team is already making arrangement for his address at its National Headquarter in Abuja.

SEE NIGERIA's NEW PRESIDENT -Muhammadu Buhari wins Nigeria's Presidential Election.

Nigeria's former military ruler Muhammadu Buhari is our new President! We are "very confident" of victory as vote counting after a tense general election showed him pulling ahead of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Buhari's All Progressives Congress (APC) opposition party declared victory and celebrations began among party grandees in the capital, Abuja. If confirmed, it would be the first democratic change of power in the history of Africa's most populous country and cap a remarkable return for the 72-year-old who headed a military regime in the 1980s.

With 34 out of 37 results in, the APC had won 19 states, while Jonathan's Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was on 14, plus the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja.

The presidential election results for 18 states plus the FCT has so far been announced. The APC has 10 states, while PDP has 8 states plus the FCT, Abuja. It's a very tight race.

So far APC is leading with 8,520,436 votes while PDP has 6,488,210 votes.

The election result announcement has ended for today.

PDP in early lead in the Presidential election results....

INEC has announced results for 8 states and the FCT, Abuja - (total 9) and so far PDP is leading with 2, 332, 734 votes while APC has 2, 302,978 votes.

The commission has reconvened to 8pm to allow sufficient time for other states to bring their results

Katsina state Police commissioner dies after protracted illness..

The Nigeria Police has announced the death of Alhaji Muhammad Hurdi (pictured middle above), the Katsina State commissioner of police. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Aminu Sadiq announced the demise of Hurdi in a statement issued to newsmen on Sunday in Katsina.

Sadiq said that Hurdi died on March 27, after a protracted illness. The late commissioner joined the service in 1988 as ASP cadet officer and rose through the ranks to the rank of a commissioner.

She posted a video on her instagram page a few days ago, Dillish Mathews, who won the grand price of $300k as winner of the 2013 Big Brother Africa contest, said the money is finished

"Read about what I did with my money that I got from Big Brother? It's finished. A couple of Rolexes, kept going to Milan, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai...it's finished. Kaput!" she said.

'Koboko Night' Deliverance Vigil in Benin City, Turned Ugly As Robbers Rape Seven Women

Total of SEVEN ladies who went for night vigil for deliverance in a new generation church, located at 2nd Cemetery Road, Benin-City, were allegedly raped by armed bandits who stormed the church at about 4am on Thursday.

The robbers were said to have earlier raided a building near Ewuotubu community where they robbed some tenants living in four different flats in the compound. It was learnt that two persons, including a police officer, were shot dead while others sustained various degrees of injuries in the process.

Bomb blast explodes in 2 States, Anambra and Enugu polling unit

Sad one really........This explosion has occurred at a polling unit in Anambra State.

The bomb went off today, March 28, at a primary school in Awka, the state capital.

However, there were no lives lost and no one was injured in the blast.

The pressmen asked the presidentvwho he voted for after he cast his vote at his polling unit in Otuoke, Bayelsa state today, President Jonathan smiled and answered "I voted for myself and for the PDP".

New York City's East Village catches fire and collapses after massive explosion

Source: At least 12 people have been injured - four critically - after a five-story building collapsed and surrounding structures caught alight following an apparent gas explosion in New York City's East Village on Thursday afternoon.

Flames ravaged buildings on Second Avenue and 7th Street following the explosion at 3.15pm - about an hour after Con Edison workers had been at the building to look into upgrading the gas service.

A Florida couple were allegedly caught having sex in a parked truck in clear view of children at playground in Florida.

The couple was reported in a phone call to the Greenacres Police Department around 5pm that day, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

Multiple children were reportedly less than 200 feet away while the duo engaged in intercourse.

Bodies of two children - aged 11 and 14 - were inside freezer 'for more than a YEAR while mother lived in the house with her two other kids' .

The bodies of two children found in a Detroit freezer had been there for more than a year while their mother continued to live in the apartment with her two other kids, according to police.

Police said the bodies appeared to a male aged approximately 11 years old and a female who was approximately 14 years old. They were found inside a plastic bag and appeared to be 'frozen'.

The bodies were discovered while officers were carrying out an eviction at the Martin Luther King apartments on Tuesday morning.
