A pair of twins who were separated as babies in 1936 have been reunited for the very first time.
Ann Hunt and Elizabeth Hamel, 78, were separated in because their mother could not afford to keep them both.
Ann, was given up for adoption and had no idea she had a twin sister until last year.
She met twin sister Elizabeth Hamel, who lives in America, for the first time recently, the BBC reported. They are now thought to be the world's longest separated pair of twins..
On meeting, the sisters hugged each other tightly before Mrs Hamel said: "How lovely to see you in the flesh."
Mrs Hunt spoke about her emotions after discovering she had a sister.
"I sort of wanted to pinch myself. I have got someone as well as me, part of me, a twin."
The couple were eventually reunited after Mrs Hamel received a letter from Mrs Hunt's daughter. They are now planning to spend more time with each other.
