Japanese great-gran of six Misao Okawa has said getting eight hours' sleep a night and 'learning to relax' are also the key to longevity
The world's oldest living person, Misao Okawa, is celebrating her amazing 116th birthday today.
The great-grandmother, who lives in Osaka, Japan, celebrated with a birthday cake and bunches of flowers, wearing a flower in her hair for the party.
She is classed as a 'supercentarian' after making it past 110 years old.
And she has previously said she believes her long life is down to eating sushi, getting eight hours' sleep a night and relaxing.
Born in 1898, she married in 1919 but was widowed in 1931 when her husband died and is now a mum of three, grandma of four and great-gran of six.
After celebrating her 115th birthday last year, Misao was presented with a certificate by the Guinness Book of Records officially recognising her as the world's oldest living woman.
And she became the world's oldest living person later last year when Jiroemon Kiruma, a Japanese man aged 116, also passed away.
Japan is now thought to have over 50,000 over-100's - sometimes attributed to the country's low fat diet of sushi and fish.
But the record for the world's oldest ever person is still held by Jeanne Calment from France - who passed away in 1997 at 122 years old.
