Nigerian sprinter Blessing Okagbare who won gold in the women’s 100m race at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, has made Nigeria proud again.
The 25-year-old won gold a few minutes ago in the women’s 200m final race in 22.25 seconds.

States of emergency in Liberia and Sierra Leone in order to control Ebola
Liberia and Sierra Leone have declared states of emergency, ordered the closure of schools and markets, and quarantined affected communities in an attempt to halt the Ebola epidemic that has claimed more than 700 lives across west Africa.
The leaders of the two countries cancelled planned trips to Washington for a US-Africa summit next week so they can meet on Friday in Conakry, the capital of Guinea to discuss the crisis.
In Nigeria, where a Liberian civil servant died of Ebola after flying to the commercial hub of Lagos, airport authorities began screening passengers arriving from places at risk for high temperatures.

Goodluck Jonathan launches 64-Page e-passport ( See Photos)
On Wednesday, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan launched and obtained the 64 page e-passport in Abuja. The existing e-passport is 32 page.
The President revealed that the 64 page e-passport conforms with international best practices. It helps frequent travelers, it is gender friendly, and more cost effective for low income earners.
The cost for the passport which is strictly for frequent travelers, is N8,750. It has also been stated that this new passport in no way invalidates the 32 page passport.

FEMALE SUICIDE BOMBER ATTACKS KANO STATE POLYTECHNIC
Tragedy struck Kano Polytechnic as a female suicide bomber on Wednesday reportedly blew herself up at institution while students were checking their results in the school.
The number of casualties is yet to be ascertained and the Kano State Police Command has confirmed the blast in the school.

PHD student, 38, 'filmed hundreds of women using the bathroom with cameras hidden in tampon dispensers and restrooms.
An Ex-University of Delaware doctorate student from Mexico was arrested after being accused of hiding cameras in women's restrooms on campus.
The suspect, identified as Javier Mendiola-Soto, 38, was charged with 21 counts of criminal violation.
Mendiola-Soto's alleged lechery came to light after a woman found a tiny camera hidden inside a tampon dispenser.

Jim Iyke posted an image of himself wearing an Ebola mask while sitting in a first class airport lounge as he flees Liberia.
He posted a message on his Instagram page saying he had cut short a business trip to Monrovia in Liberia - where at least 600 people have already died from the disease.

A Clinically Confirmed Dead Woman Gave Birth To A Baby Girl
A Palestinian baby girl has been delivered from the womb of her mother who was killed in an Israeli attack in Gaza. The 23-year-old woman died after an airstrike hit her house in the central Gaza town of Deir al-Balah. “Her pregnant mother was brought here and when we checked the foetus it was alive, so the doctors did fast surgery and brought the baby out breathing,” Doctor Wajdi Kisht told Reuters.

The Founder of Trinity House, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, has claimed that he has found a solution to the deadly Ebola disease, which has killed no fewer than 670 people and infected more than 1,000 in Africa.
Following the death in Lagos of a Liberian, Patrick Sawyer, who flew in from his country to Nigeria last week, Ighodalo said he had a “message of hope and faith” that would uncover the solution to the highly infectious disease.
He said that God’s “anointing” and the “living words of Jesus,” were all that are needed to cure the deadly disease,” adding that mere laying of hands on those afflicted with the incurable Ebola virus was all that was required to liberate them.

Bomb Blast in St. Charles Catholic Church Kano State...
The Police headquarters in Abuja has declared that five suspects have been arrested in connection with the various terror attacks that occurred in Kano, Sunday, where five persons were killed.
In a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Frank Mba, two of the suspects were arrested in connection with the failed attack at the Ishiaku Rabiu Mosque in Kano, while three others were arrested in connection with the attack on St. Charles Catholic Church that resulted in the death of five persons.
The suspects, all of them, males are facing interrogation in different police facilities in the state.
The statement reads; “As part ongoing investigations into the various terror related incidents that occurred in Kano, Police operatives in the ancient city have arrested 5 suspects in connection with the Saint Charles Church. All suspects are currently undergoing interrogation at different Police facilities”.

Texas doctor who moved to Africa to help ebola patients has contracted the disease which has now spread to Nigeria after an infected businessman boarded a plane.
Source: A Texas doctor who had moved to Liberia to work for a medical charity been infected with the deadly virus ebola.
Dr Kent Brantly, who had moved to the country before the outbreak, is now being treated for the disease at a Liberia hospital.
Ebola, one of the world's deadliest viruses, has been spreading through West Africa, with the latest case being confirmed in Nigeria after an infected businessman traveled there by plane.

Missing Air Algerie flight has been spotted in north of country as 116 passengers feared dead.
The fate of the Air Algerie flight which vanished with 116 people on board en route from Burkina Faso to Algiers appears to have been uncovered after Mali's President confirmed wreckage has been found.
Ibrahim Boubacar Keita said today that the wreckage of the flight had been spotted in his country's desert north.
It is the third major aviation disaster in a week, following the MH17 disaster in Ukraine and the TransAsia Airways crash in Taiwan yesterday.
Nearly 250 people died in these two crashes. The week's grim toll may now rise by 116 more.
'I have just been informed that the wreckage has been found between Aguelhoc and Kidal,' Keita said during a meeting of political, religious and civil society leaders in Bamako. He did not give any more details.

The two suspects,Amos Kareem and Abubakar Ladan, were arrested following a tip-off with human head, leg and hand in Tabira village, Okuta in Baruten Local Government Area of the state.
One of the suspects, Abubakar Ladan, told Vanguard that Amos Kareem promised to give him a motorcycle if he could find him human head, hand and leg.He said his desire to own a motorcycle prompted him to go to a burial ground and cut off the human head, leg and hand that were displayed.

Surgeons in Mumbai have removed an astonishing 232 teeth-like growths from the mouth of a teenager.
Ashik Gavai, 17, sought medical help after suffering swelling on the right side of his lower jaw.
He was referred to the city's JJ Hospital, where doctors found he was suffering from a condition known as complex odontoma.

Surgeons AMPUTATED a Man's penis without his permission during circumcision surgery
The alleged victim says he went in for routine circumcision surgery and awoke to find the organ had been completely removed.
The man and his wife are now suing two doctors and Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama, according to the Birmingham News.
The lawsuit claims: "When the plaintiff ... awoke from his aforesaid surgical procedure, his penis was amputated.

Ebola Virus in Nigeria!!! A Liberian man in Lagos tested positive for Ebola Virus
The Lagos State Ministry of Health today July 24th said a Liberian man in his 40s is being tested for the deadly Ebola virus in Lagos.
On July 14th, the Lagos state government issued an alert to residents of the state over the deadly virus currently sweeping through some west African countries, including Liberia.
More details on the outcome of the test is still being expected. This is the first recorded case of one of the world's deadliest diseases in Nigeria.

A blast occurred around 3 this afternoon at New Road Motor in the Sabongari area, a predominantly Christian quarter of Kano city, according to police sources. The explosive was hidden in a table top fridge disguised as luggage
Details of casualties are still sketchy but eyewitnesses say scores were killed and many people injured.

The occasion is the first time the new emir of Kano and the president are meeting face to face since their public falling out over the alleged missing $20billion. Sanusi was later removed as the governor of the CBN by President Goodluck Jonathan, but in a remarkable twist was announced as the new emir of Kano following the death of Emir Ado Bayero.

While parading Chijioke before newsmen, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonna said Chijioke is the chief suspect in his father's death because he was the only one around when the deceased was brutally murdered on June 30th at his home in Umuoriehi, Isingwu in Umuahia North LGA of Abia state.
