Ann Njemanze says she is older than her new husband by 5 years.

In a recent interview with Leadership Newspaper, actress Ann Njemanze admitted being older than her new husband, Silver Ojieson. Ann and Silver got married on Saturday Nov. 9th after courting for several months.
"Yes he is (younger), with a few years. My husband and I do not share up to 5 years difference and he is not bothered about it." Ann said in the interview
She also talked about how they met and how he proposed. Find that after the cut...

How did you meet your husband?
My husband, Silver Ijieson is a lecturer. I met him at a lecture organized by the University of Lagos some 3 years back. Dr. Barclays Oyakeruma was supposed to give a lecture that day titled, ‘Nollywood and its effect on globalization’. My colleagues who were at the lecture encouraged me to come back and further my studies, I gave the excuse of no time. But Dr Oyakeruma urged me to enroll so as to broaden my knowledge. So a senior colleague of mine, Martins Odaji introduced me to my husband and we exchanged pleasantries and he said that if I needed help with my studies, I should not fail to call on him. A year later we met at the point of registering for my program.

When did he propose?
He proposed to me early this year; he just said he was going to marry me. I took it for granted, like he was just joking about it. I never saw the possibility because then he did not know much about me. I thought he just saw a woman he could exchange a lot of ideas with. He proposed to me properly seven months later, he gave me a ring. He was shaking all over like a leaf. He is light complexioned, so as he was proposing, he was all read. I love him so much because he is very courageous.

Has he ever been married before?
No, he’s never been married, no way. This is his last marriage in Jesus name. He is the only son of his parents too from Edo State.

Do you regret your first marriage?
Regret it? My daughter is taller and finer than I am. She is the headgirl of her school. In less than 2 weeks, she is going for a photo shoot. At 16, she has started earning money. She is

writing for a magazine and you ask if I regret it? I thank him (Segun Arinze)!! Without him I would not have met my Silver.

Are you not afraid that your marriage might crash again?
No! I reject it. We have our differences, just like other couples do, but it is not enough to say, we no do again. Before we got married, we told ourselves that divorce and separation are no option.

The River of Blood in Slovakian.

Rumours were rife in a Slovakian town this week when a river running through turned bright red.
The river in Myjava, a small municipality on the border to the Czech Republic, had changed colour over night and turned into 'blood'.
Police have been called in to investigate the matter, but it is believed to be a faulty filtering system from a slaughterhouse upstream.

Roman Podbrezova, 65, had gone for a morning walk when he saw the drastic change to the river which runs through the centre of the town.

Another local said: ‘This is really creepy. Yesterday evening I walked past here and it was its normal colour.
‘Now it looks like someone slaughtered 1,000 virgins or something. I'm not superstitious, and we've never had any serial killers or anything like that here, but this isn't normal.
'Slaughter of 1,00 virgins': Locals feared the colour change was an result of mass murder or 'evil', although the most likely explanation is that of a broken filtration system at a nearby slaughterhouse

Police spokesman Elena Antalova said: ‘We are checking the source of the blood and what caused it.
‘At the moment we are thinking it could have come from dead fish or maybe someone washed a barrel containing blood in the river.
‘It seems it came from the drains directly above the museum,’ she said.
The waste from a slaughterhouse higher up the River Myjava is usually pumped into a retaining pool where it is filtered before being released into the river.

Kim Kardashian has always been a trendsetter, but this time it seems she may have been beaten to the punch.
The reality TV star drew plenty of attention for the stunning - not to mention revealing - black Saint Laurent gown she wore in her family's annual Christmas card when it was revealed on Sunday.
However, more than a week earlier, Carmen Electra donned the exact same plunging number when she attended the Latin Grammy Awards on November 21.
Fashion face-off! Kim Kardashian (left) and Carmen Electra both donned the same sexy designer Saint Laurent gown just weeks apart

Kim most certainly did the dress, which also featured a cut-out back, sexy thigh-high slit and long sequin sleeves with cut-out detail at the armpit, justice as she stood on a staircase with one arm seductively raised behind her head while adding height to her petite frame with towering purple strappy stilettos.
Her voluminous cascading blonde tresses and bronzed bombshell make-up completed the va-va-voom look.
Carmen's leaner physique didn't do the gown quite as much justice, while her surgically-enhanced wide-set bosom left her with no cleavage, though plenty of side boob.

Comedian Tunde Ednut Mocks Eniola Badmus, Princess, Lepacious Bose Over Obesity

tunde ednut (18)All round entertainer, comedian cum singer Tunde Ednut, tried making his followers laugh by putting up an hilarious photo – mocking fat people – on Instagram.
One of his friends who he was said to have informed before posting the picture on the social network media reveals to us that Tunde purposely used the photo to spite or mock the likes of Princess, Lepacious Bose and Eniola Badmus.
His tactic to create an attention for the photo later worked out as one of the fat people he had in mind to mock, Eniola Badmus who didn’t find it funny replied immediately, “Being fat doesn’t mean you can’t make it in life, beauty is not size, you niggaz have a problem with being fat. Bring no one down, we are all human, no discrimination, we are all created by God. I rep plus size”
Tunde sensing what this could bring simply responded to Eniola’s response as thus, “Lmaao, my sister, you I love you die…”
Well, it looks Lepacious Bose and Princess are yet to make a comment….

2013 World corruption index: Denmark rated cleanest in corruption index, Nigeria ranks 144

Stop_corruption_400BERLIN, (AFP) – Nigeria has been ranked 144th most corrupt country as Afghanistan, North Korea and Somalia are seen as the world’s most corrupt countries while Denmark and New Zealand are nearly squeaky-clean, graft watchdog Transparency International said in a survey Tuesday.
Worldwide, almost 70 percent of nations are thought to have a “serious problem” with public servants on the take, and none of the 177 countries surveyed this year got a perfect score, said the Berlin-based non-profit group.
Transparency International’s annual list is the most widely used indicator of sleaze in political parties, police, justice systems and civil services, a scourge which undermines development and the fight against poverty.”Corruption hurts the poor most,” lead researcher Finn Heinrich told AFP.
“That’s what you see when you look at the countries at the bottom. Within those countries, it’s also poor people who get hurt the most. These countries will never get out of the poverty trap if they don’t tackle corruption.”
Among countries that have slipped the most on the group’s 2013 Corruption Perceptions Index are war-torn Syria as well as Libya and Mali, which have also faced major military conflict in recent years.
“Corruption is very much linked to countries that fall apart, as you see in Libya, Syria, two of the countries that deteriorated the most,” said Heinrich.
“If you look at the bottom of the list, we also have Somalia there. These are not countries where the government is functioning effectively, and people have to take all means in order to get by, to get services, to get food, to survive.”
Heinrich said Afghanistan, where most NATO-led Western forces are pulling out next year after a more than decade long deployment, is “a sobering story. We have not seen tangible improvements”.
“The West has not only invested in security but also in trying to establish the rule of law. But there have been surveys in the last couple of years showing the share of people paying bribes is still one of the highest in the world.”
Also at the bottom of the list is North Korea, “an absolutely closed totalitarian society”, said Heinrich, where defectors report that famine is worsening corruption “because you have to know someone in the party who is corrupt in order to even survive”.
Among the “most improved” countries, although from a low base, was Myanmar, where a former military junta has opened the door to the democratic process and, facing an investment boom, has formally committed to transparency and accountability rules.
“That’s the only way countries can avoid the ‘resource curse’, where the resources are only available to a very small elite,” said Heinrich. “Nigeria and other oil-rich countries are obviously very good examples.”
Huguette Labelle, chair of Transparency, said “all countries still face the threat of corruption at all levels of government, from the issuing of local permits to the enforcement of laws and regulations”.
The group says that because corruption is illegal and secretive, it cannot be meaningfully measured.
Instead Transparency collates expert views on the problem from bodies such as the World Bank, African Development Bank, Economist Intelligence Unit, Bertelsmann Foundation, Freedom House and other groups.
It then ranks countries on a scale of 0-100, where 0 means a country’s public sector is considered highly corrupt and 100 means its is regarded as very clean.
The latest survey “paints a worrying picture”, said Transparency. “While a handful perform well, not one single country gets a perfect score. More than two-thirds score less than 50.”
The bottom-ranked countries, scoring 10 to 19, included Iraq, Syria, Libya, Sudan and South Sudan, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Yemen.
At the top, between 80 and 89, aside from Denmark and New Zealand, were Luxembourg, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Singapore, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
“The top performers clearly reveal how transparency supports accountability and can stop corruption,” said Labelle.
“Still, the better performers face issues like state capture, campaign finance and the oversight of big public contracts which remain major corruption risks.”
The following is a list of the top- and bottom-ranked 10 nations on graft watchdog Transparency International’s annual Corruption Perceptions Index, released on Tuesday.
The index score relates to perceptions of the degree of corruption as seen by country analysts and business people and ranges between zero, which is highly corrupt, and 100, which is very clean.
(The equals symbol means nations share the same rank)

“He’s Enjoying a Better Life” – TB Joshua on Jim Iyke’s Deliverance.

TB Joshua & Jim Iyke - December 2013 - BellaNaija

In September 2013, Nollywood star Jim Iyke got his “deliverance” at TB Joshua‘s Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN). If you missed it, click here
Over the weekend, Punch released an exclusive one-on-one interview with the prophet. TB Joshua spoke at great length about his ministry, Jim Iyke’s deliverance, President Goodluck Jonathan and football predictions.
Read Excerpts;
On Jim Iyke’s deliverance: “Oh please, don’t drag me into that. All I can say is that if a person needs to see a doctor, he should be free to do so. I like the young man. He has been defending himself on the internet. Is he not enjoying a better life now? Are things not working for him?”

On how he tells the President when he has an instruction for the nation: “I say it on the television and all over the world. I accept that is not enough; it is better to see him one on one.
But what is the essence of a president’s visit if he won’t follow what I will tell him? This kind of trend keeps staining my name. I will not mention anybody, when they leave here; they do not obey the instructions.”
On if President Goodluck Jonathan patronizes his services: “When it comes to relationship, I think he would be in the best position to answer that question. Since what we are doing is creating impact around the world, you should expect Nigeria’s president to also be part of it. We are praying for the nation and being a Christian acknowledges it. If Jonathan had been here, it would have been shown on our Emmanuel Television network. No president has ever visited this place in secret. The Bible says that if you confess me before men, I will confess you before my father in heaven. I am not a witch doctor; we have nothing to hide. If you have not read in the newspapers that your president came here, then that is that. Anytime presidents of other countries come here, Jonathan is usually aware. If he doesn’t believe in what we are doing, he would have told them that we constitute security risks.”
On his relationship with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome: ”Please, don’t drag me into all that. I beg you.”

24 Confirms Death Insurgents in Maiduguri Attack .

DEADThe Defence Headquarters (DHQ) said 24 insurgents died during an exchange of fire between security forces and suspected terrorists in the pre-dawn attack in Maiduguri.
This information is contained in a statement signed by Brig.-Gen. Chris Olukolade, the Director of Defence Information, in Abuja on Monday.
According to the statement, the Nigerian security forces repelled the attack.
The statement said military locations, which included the Nigerian Air Force Base in Maiduguri, were targeted during the attack.
It stated that three decommissioned military aircraft as well as two helicopters were incapacitated in the course of the attack.
“Two Air Force personnel were also wounded while 24 insurgents died during the exchange of fire.
“Security forces are in pursuit of the terrorists in the Djemtillo general area along the Maiduguri/Banishek axis,’’ the statement stated.
It added that movements in Maiduguri and environs had been restricted.
It also enjoined citizens to report any of the fleeing insurgents, most of who could be identified with gunshot wounds whenever they were sighted.
The statement also stated that normal flights operation to and from the Maiduguri Airport, which was earlier disrupted temporarily, had resumed.

Associated Airlines Sent Dr. Olusegun Agagu’s Crashed Survivors to S-Africa For Treatment

American AirlinesManagement of Associated Airlines has finally sent its two cabin crew members who were involved in its aircrash in Lagos on October 3, 2013 to South Africa for treatment.
The airliner, Embraer 120, crashed close to the Murtala Muhammed Airport while conveying the remains of former governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, to Akure for burial.
The two cabin crew members, Miss Toyin Samson and Mrs. Quinneth Owolabi, had been receiving treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, and Nigeria Airforce Hospital, Airforce Base, Ikeja, respectively, following injuries sustained in the crash.
It was gathered yesterday, that the victims were flown out of the country last Monday, even though the left toes of Mrs. Owolabi had been amputated due to gangrene infection.
It was also learnt that the reason given by the airline for flying them out late was to allow them stabilise in the hospitals where they were receiving treatments.
Confirming the development to Vanguard, yesterday, President of National Cabin Crew Association, NACCA, Mr. Charles Onuoha, said the association was delighted that the airline had risen to the occasion by attending to the welfare of the victims.
He said the airline also picked the bills of the two ladies before moving them out of the country for further treatment.
“We are happy that Associated Airlines has done the needful. Our two members who survived the crash were transferred to a South African hospital last Monday to continue their post-trauma treatment and we are monitoring their situation. The airlines sent them out because they know the insurers will pay,” Onuoha told Vanguard.
He said the airlines’ management contemplated sending them to Israel for treatment before eventually settling for South Africa.
On compensation for the victims, as spelt out by the International Civil Aviation Organisation, ICAO, Onuoha said the airlines was in a position to pay families of passengers and crew, since the aircraft was covered by insurance.
ICAO specifies payment of $100,000 compensation to families of victims of the crash.

Kanye West Storms off Stage In The Middle Of His Yeezus Concert In Florida.

Kanye West is reported to have stopped a Florida concert midway through to sling a few profanities at his technical crew before storming off the stage.
The rapper was performing at the Tampa Forum on Saturday night when he became suddenly displeased with the sound and lighting scheme.
The 36-year-old, only a few seconds into his third song of the night, demanded that the music be halted as he chewed out a sound tech for failing to get his levels right.
He went on to berate a tech named Laura for failing to give him the ‘deep voice’ effect through the sound system.
The alleged tantrum was in front of 7,000 concert goers.

Other complaints made by the Yeezus rapper included that his likeness on the massive LED screen projecting his image to the thousands gathered was in colour when it was supposed be monochrome.
After a short delay, Kanye returned to the stage, performing a rousing rendition of Send It Up.
The hip hop artist then ranted, according to several attendees, as per usual comparing himself to Steve Jobs, Thomas Edison and Nelson Mandela.
Quite the show: The rapper's Yeezus tour features many complex shenanigans

The name dropping was in defence against his ‘haters’ as he claimed that the aforementioned luminaries had also had their fair share of detractors.
Kanye’s Yeezus tour comes to a close in Toronto two days before Christmas, a holiday he will most likely spend with his partner Kim Kardashian’s family.
The pair have been setting up their nest in Los Angeles after buying an $11m home over the summer, which they are currently in the middle of remodelling.

Baby Boom for Gay Parents.

Joshua Wayser, at right, and Richard Schulte, second left, shop at a street market with three of their six children, from left: Joey, 3, Isaac, 5, and Shayna, 7, in Los Angeles.
The Schulte-Wayser family is like the Jetsons: a blend of midcentury traditional and postmodern cool.“One parent is the breadwinner, a corporate lawyer who is Type A when it comes to schoolwork, bedtime and the importance of rules.
The other parent is the self-described “baby whisperer,” staying home to care for the couple’s two daughters and four sons, who dash through their days as if wearing jetpacks.
Both parents know when rules and roles are made for subverting.
“We are each of us very maternal in our own way,” said Joshua Wayser, 50, the lawyer.
“I take my girls shopping, and I’m in charge of beauty and hair care.”
Wayser glanced at Richard Schulte, 61, his homemaker-artist husband, who was sitting nearby.
“Of course,” Wayser added dryly, “he doesn’t think I do a good job.”
Wayser, Schulte and their six adopted children are part of one of the more emphatic reinventions of the standard family flow chart. A growing number of gay men and lesbians are pursuing parenthood any way they can: adoption, surrogacy, donor sperm.
“There’s a gayby boom, that’s for sure,” Wayser said. “So many of our friends are having kids.”
Some critics have expressed concern that the children of gay parents may suffer from social stigma and the lack of conventional adult role models, or that same-sex couples are not suited to the monotonous rigors of family life.
Earlier studies, often invoked in the culture wars over same-sex marriage, suggested that children who lived with gay parents were prone to lower grades, conduct disorders and a heightened risk of drug and alcohol problems.“But new research suggests that such fears are misplaced.
Through a preliminary analysis of census data and other sources, Michael J. Rosenfeld of Stanford University has found that whatever problems their children may display are more likely to stem from other factors, like the rupture of the heterosexual marriage that produced the children in the first place.
Once these factors are taken into account, said Rosenfeld, author of “The Age of Independence: Interracial Unions, Same-sex Unions, and the Changing American Family,” the children of same-sex parents are academically and emotionally indistinguishable from those of heterosexual parents.
And two-father couples, in defiance of stereotype, turn out to be exemplars of domesticity. In her long-term studies of unconventional families, Judith Stacey, a professor of social and cultural analysis at New York University, found that the most stable of all were those headed by gay men who had their children together.
Over 14 years, she said, “I was shocked to find that none of the male couples with children had broken up, not one.”
Stacey, author of “Unhitched: Love, Marriage and Family Values From West Hollywood to Western China,” attributed that success to self-selection.
“For men to become parents without women is very difficult,” she said.
“Only a small percentage are willing and able to make the commitment.”
There is no maybe about the gayby boom. According to the Williams Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles, the number of gay couples with children has doubled in the past decade, and today well more than 100,000 same-sex couples are raising children.
Other estimates put the number of children living with gay parents – couples and singletons combined — at close to two million, or one out of 37 children under age 18.
Driving the rise in same-sex parenthood is the resonant success of the marriage equality movement, which has led to the legalisation of same-sex marriage in 16 states and has helped ease adoption policies elsewhere. In 2009, 19 per cent of same-sex couples raising children reported having an adopted child, up from just 10 per cent in 2000.
Gay parents are four times as likely as straight ones to be raising adoptees and six times as likely to be caring for foster children, whom they often end up adopting.
Some crave the fetters of DNA, and here women have an advantage. Many of the children of lesbian couples are the biological offspring of one of the women and a semen donor — who may be anonymous, a friend or the brother of the nongestating woman.
The Schulte-Wayser family started out unhyphenated, as the Waysers. The two men had broken up; Wayser was living alone in Los Angeles, his law career was in flux, and he was tired of obsessing about work.
“I thought, ‘I’ve got to do something else,’” he said.
“I had to come out to myself as a father.” His mother was thrilled, and she offered to pay the costs for a surrogate mother to carry a baby conceived with his sperm. Wayser said no.
“I wanted the clarity of having someone who didn’t share my genetics, who was completely different from me,” he said.
He met with an adoption lawyer in March 2000, and by June he had a newborn daughter, Julie.
Several months later, Schulte called to chat, heard Julie in the background and stopped by to meet her.
The baby reminded him of Don King, the boxing promoter.
“It was love at first sight,” Schulte said, and Wayser acknowledged, “I used Julie as bait.”
His old boyfriend took it.
“We were a couple again,” Schulte said. Or rather, he amended, “we were a family.”
He and Wayser later married in Malibu.
From 2002 to 2009, four brothers and a sister followed – Derek, AJ, Isaac (all from one mother), Shayna and Joey.
“That’s my line in the sand,” Wayser said.
“We’ve run out of room.”

Breaking News: Ngige storms Election Tribunal, seeks order against INEC, Governor-elect Obiano.

ngige
APC GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE, SEN. CHRIS NGIGE CASTING HIS VOTE DURING ANAMBRA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION AT ALOR WARD OF IDEMILI SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF ANAMBRA STATE ON SATURDAY (16/11/13)
Defeated Anambra governorship candidate, Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige, has made good his threat to challenge the election of Chief Willie Obiano as the next governor of the state.
Ngige yesterday lodged a suit at the Anambra State Election Petition Tribunal, according to an impeccable source who spoke with News Express.
The source disclosed that the suit was filed by Ngige’s younger brother, Chief Emeka Ngige, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
“The suit includes a motion exparte for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to allow him to inspect materials used for the governorship election,” the source said.
Ngige, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), came third in the election the result of which was announced on Sunday morning. He scored 95,953 votes as against 180,178 votes by Obiano and 97,700 votes by second-placed Comrade Tony Nwoye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Obiano extended a hand of fellowship to Ngige and other defeated candidates in his victory speech and while receiving the Certificate of Return from INEC yesterday in Awka, the state capital.
