Nick Cannon is working on a book of poetry for children, publisher Scholastic revealed today.
The father-of-two, who recently separated from wife Mariah Carey, is to publish Neon Aliens Ate My Homework and Other Poems in March 2015.
According to the publisher, Neon Aliens will feature black-and-white illustrations from several street artists and will reflect the America's Got Talent host's desire to combine poetry and hip-hop.

Mr Cannon said in a statement issued through Scholastic that he has been writing poems and stories since he was eight.
'Writing is at the center of everything I do as an artist. Doing creative writing - especially writing poetry - is when I felt the calmest and freest. As a kid, it was my escape from the inner-city pitfalls,' the San Diego, California, native said.
Mr Cannon added: 'When I was eight years old, I got a spiral notebook and wrote my first poem/rap. I filled that notebook with poems, rhymes, jokes, and witty stories. I still keep one to this day. I hope that poems in Neon Aliens will help inspire kids to want to get out a pen and paper to write or draw their own thoughts, rhymes, and stories.'
Mr Cannon also has a children's book scheduled for October, Roc and Roe's Twelve Days of Christmas, inspired by the twins he had with his now-estranged wife, Ms Carey.
Ms Carey, 45, is living at their Manhattan apartment with the twins, while Mr Cannon 'has been staying in hotels,' a source told People.
Ms Carey and Mr Cannon married in April 2008 in the Bahamas, and welcomed their twin son and daughter, Moroccan and Monroe, in April 2011.
Along with hosting America's Got Talent, Mr Cannon has several successful business interests including his own company, Ncredible entertainment.
