Woman strangled to death in a freak subway accident after her scarf and hair got caught in escalator.

A 48-year-old Canadian woman has died from strangulation after her scarf and hair got caught in an escalator at a Montreal train station. 

The freak accident took place just after 9am Thursday morning at the Fabre metro station along Montreal's blue line. 

Witnesses told police they saw the unnamed victim struggling to free her scarf after it got lodged in the teeth of an escalator on her way down to the subway platform.

ECOWAS approves $50m for Lagos-Abidjan Expressway

The Economic Community of West African States on Thursday approved $50m as contributory fund for the design and feasibility studies for the proposed Lagos-Abidjan Expressway.

The approval for the six-lane expressway was granted during a meeting of ECOWAS Ministers of Works and Infrastructure, which held on the sidelines of the ongoing 22nd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

EXPOSED: Another Baby factor in Ondo, 24 suspects arrested

A Baby factory has been uncovered in Ilu-Titun in Okitipupa council area of Ondo State by the state command of the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS.

At least 24 suspects were arrested in connection with the illegal establishment.
Among those nabbed by the anti-trafficking detectives of the command included five pregnant women, five nursing mothers, five babies, two of which are less than a month old and eight men whose duty it was to impregnate the women.
